2013 UML Fine Arts Benefit and Auction
The University of Massachusetts Lowell’s 6th Annual Fine Arts Benefit and Auction, sponsored by the Student Art Union and the Office of Advancement will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Allen House on South Campus.
The evening will include a live and silent auction, with work from nationally and internationally known artists, as well as UML faculty, alumni, and students. Whether you are an experienced collector or new to the art of collecting, the event is sure to please with a wide variety of objects and images to choose from. Tickets for the reception are $20.00 and will include hors d’oeuvres, wine, and other refreshments.
Through the generosity of each year’s participants, the proceeds from the benefit have supported activities that enhance the curriculum of the UML Art Department. This includes a visiting artist lecture series, visits to New York City museums and galleries, and orientation events for new students. This year, proceeds from the benefit will go to establish new scholarships and travel opportunities for our students.
Since 1895 when the Lowell Textile School first began to train students in drawing, decoration, and design theory, the history of the University is rich in helping students develop for a career in the visual arts. Now, as the presence of UML continues to increase on both national and international levels, your participation and support of this year’s event will ensure our Fine Arts program continues to move forward in step with the University’s expanding reputation. We look forward to your presence and appreciate your support!
